How Electricity meter and distribution box is connected at homes.

Electricity plays a major role in our day to day life, as we all need electricity to run our electrical appliances and to lighten our lives.
Many new technology working on electricity have been developed to advance and make our lives more luxurious, before understanding all those technology, it becomes important to clear our basics of electrical engineering.
And what can be better topic to start than our house wiring, first we need to learn how metering and distribution box is being connected in our home.

So firstly for our house wiring we need to approve for an electricity meter from the discom (distributing company) or we can say from our electricity board, the sanction meter capacity will be according to the load of the house.
then for connection meter is being connected to the utility connections with phase and neutral connected to phase neutral connections given in meter, output from the meter will be connected to the Double pole (DP) MCB in the distribution box (DB) and further single pole MCB is connected to the phase coming out from the DP MCB and neutral is connected to neutral link.

Now electricity to different circuits are given by completing the circuit using phase and neutral, phase is taken out from output of SP MCB and neutral from neutral link.

In the given video all these connections are explained briefly. check this out it will surely clear your concept.
